Alain Bergeron's
Biography

|
A specialist in communications and brand management, having acquired international experience with major Canadian companies (CN Rail,, Alcan Aluminium, Bombardier Aéronautique), Alain Bergeron has developed and increased the visibility, notoriety, and reputation of businesses and products on a national and international plane, taking on the most complex and difficult cases to do so.
With a degree in political science from the University of Ottawa, Alain Bergeron has won many awards for the production of annual reports, publicity campaigns, and special events, on both national and international fronts. He is a member of the International Association of Business Communicators and the Canadian Investor Relations Institute. In addition, he has invested a great deal of his time and energy in his community, committed to a strong involvment with many nonprofit organizations.
Alain Bergeron has worked for Astral since 2001, as Vice-President of Corporate Communications and Chief Marketing Officer.

Arnold Chiasson's
Biography

|
Arnold Chiasson is a human resources specialist who has been Vice-President of Human resources at Astral since 1994.
Prior to that, he worked as General Manager, Human Resources and Quality Management at Armstrong World Industries Canada Ltd for over two years at their head office in Montreal.
Mr. Chiasson started his professional career with Alcan Aluminium Ltd in 1974 and was with that firm for more than 17 years, until 1991. Over that period of time, various assignments gave him the opportunity to delve extensively into most sub-disciplines within the HR function, through stays at four different plant sites in Quebec and British Columbia as well as at the head office in Montreal on two separate occasions.
Mr. Chiasson has a Masters degree in education and a B.A. in economics and political science from the University of Arizona.

Brigitte K. Catellier's
Biography

Brigitte K. Catellier has held the position of Vice-President of Legal Affairs and Secretary at Astral since September, 2004.
After having received her degree in law at McGill University in 1988 and having been admitted to the Québec Bar in 1989, Brigitte Catellier worked for several years with the law firm Ogilvy Renault, where she was named partner. She then joined the Canadian National Railway company (CN) as lead counsel and associate secretary for the business. She stayed at CN for five years. Before joining Astral, she held the position of corporate secretary at Alimentation Couche-Tard Inc.

Claude Gagnon's
Biography

|
Claude Gagnon joined Astral in July, 1991. He is currently the Senior Vice-President and Chief Financial Officer, as well as a director and officer of several of the company’s subsidiaries.
Claude began his professional career - from 1976 to 1980 - as a chartered accountant at Clarkson Gordon (now Ernst & Young) in Montréal.
He then joined Canadian Steamship Lines Inc., a bulk-transportation company and subsidiary of the CSL Group Inc., where he was employed from 1980 to 1991. As Vice-President of Finance, he was responsible for the finance and IT functions.
Claude is a member of the Québec Order of Chartered Accountants, and has a Bachelor of Commerce from Concordia University.

Sophie Emond's
Biography

Sophie Émond has been Vice-President of Regulatory and Government Affairs at Astral since 2000.
Responsible for promoting the interests of the company and Astral’s television and radio business units, Sophie Émond advises the company regarding its positioning with respect to broadcasting and telecommunications policy, in its relationship with the CRTC and various governmental agencies, as well as its relationship with other regulatory bodies, broadcaster associations, distributors, producers, and directors.
Admitted to the Québec Bar after having received her B.A. in Law from the University of Montréal in 1988, she also holds a Masters in Law from the London School of Economics and Political Science. After having started her career in law working for Ogilvy Renault, she worked for two years in legal services for the Federal Department of Communications and joined the law offices of Heenan Blaikie in 1994, where she was named an associate.

Robert Fortier's
Biography

Robert Fortier has held the position of Vice President at Astral since October, 2005.
Having received his BA in accounting from the University of Quebec at Trois-Rivières in 1981, Robert worked for the offices of Deloitte, Haskins & Sells up until 1983, before pursuing his career in the world of hospitality and hotel management with the Best Western hotel chain. He then became vice president of finance with the advertising agency Léveillé, Vickers & Benson. From 1995 until recently, he held the position of vice president of finance and corporate controller at Microcell Telecommunications, Inc., a national wireless telecommunication company operation under the brand name Fido.
Robert Fortier has held the position of Chairman of the Taxation Committee of the Canadian Wireless Telecommunications Association and he is a member of the Ordre des Comptables Agréés (Chartered Accountants) of Québec since 1983.

Sidney Greenberg's
Biography

Sidney Greenberg is Vice President of Astral Media Inc. one of Canada’s most dynamic and best performing media companies with a strong presence in the country’s four fastest growing media platforms: specialty and pay TV, radio, outdoor advertising and interactive media.
Born in Montreal in 1937 he is one of four brothers who founded Astral 45 years ago – beginning as a specialty photographic business and evolving into the largest operator of English and French specialty television services, the country’s largest radio broadcaster with 82 stations in eight provinces as well as a leading outdoor advertising company in Quebec and Ontario. The company also owns and operates over 70 websites which attracts nearly 4.9 million visitors each month. From four brothers the company now employs 2800 people at its facilities in Montreal, Toronto and around Canada and is a contributor to the Canadian economy and part of Canadian culture.
Sidney Greenberg is active in many community associations. Mr. Greenberg and his brothers were awarded the Eleanor Roosevelt Humanities Award in 1993. Among the numerous awards for his involvement in community activities Mr. Greenberg received the Lifetime Achievement Award at the Jewish Sports Hall of Fame which honors those individuals who have made significant contributions to the state of Israel and society through sports. Mr. Greenberg received the Jerusalem Award in 2003.
Mr. Sidney Greenberg sits on the board of Mount Sinai Hospital, Toronto; the Canadian Sports Hall of Fame; is past president of Maccabi Canada and past Vice Chairman of Maccabi World Union; is past Vice President of Bnai Brith Canada; and Founder of the North American Youth Games; and was previously involved with the Canadian Olympic Committee and the Raptors Foundation. He is also a member of the Canada Israel Committee and involved in pro-Israel advocacy on campus. He is currently the Chairman of the Israel Ice Hockey Federation.

Marc-André Renaud's
Biography

Marc André Renaud, who joined Astral in February 2010, is responsible for setting the overall technology direction as well as managing the entire company's information technology activities.
Marc-André has over 20 years of experience in management consulting and information technology. As a consultant, he has helped many large corporations redefine their IT strategies and processes. After nearly ten years at Deloitte, he started his own company, IDEO Consulting Inc., where he served as Partner and President. He led IDEO Consulting for almost eight years, during which time he carried out many consulting engagements for media and communications companies, including Astral.
He holds a bachelor’s degree in computer science and an MBA from the Université de Sherbrooke.
